Long Island

I got Joe Bruce Springsteen tickets for his birthday. Since the concert was at Giants Stadium I though we could take a mini-vacation to Long Island to see family. We got to spend the day with My cousin Hailey and her husband and daughter Morgan. We went to Jones Beach (or somewhere around there), swam in the ocean, threw the football for awhile, and walked to the light house. It was a great day!

Our House

Here's the upstairs bathroom. We went with a beach theme and more specifically an Ocean City, NJ theme. All the pictures are from the OCNJ boardwalk. Mack and Manco's Pizza, Goofy Golf, Wonderland, and more! The other picture is our basement, aka Joe's media room. He had to rewire the electric, he put up drywall and painted with the help of Jake. We have everything set up for all our entertainment needs! The washer and dryer are down there in a utility room along with the cat litter boxes... The turtle tank is in the basement also...

Our House

Here is the front of our house, of course I put out the PSU flag! This shows the kitchen and the living room. When we bought the house all the walls were white. It felt kinda institutional so we decided to paint. Joe painted the kitchen, the living room, 2 bathrooms, and the basement in less than a week! All the pictures on the walls will be framed photographs that Joe and I took. The kitchen has some of our London pictures of the market, Portobello Road, and the Don Perion storefront. We haven't put anything on the walls of the living room yet because we can't decide what to put up. The stairway of course has the ever so original collage frames of family pictures and the two of us. The big screen tv we bought it just sitting in the living room for now until we get it hung. Can't wait for that!

Elks Initiation

This was Joe's initiation night at the Elks Club in Lancaster. My dad was his sponsor and now they are frat brothers!?!?! Anyway, it was an excuse to get dressed up! Bobby went crazy with the pictures and the flowers... but they came out pretty good if I do say so myself!

Jake's Graduation

Jake's graduation from PSU in May 2008! We are so proud. He has taken a job as a restaurant manger in Chicago. We miss him... (and I'm a little jealous!)

London

February 2008 we went to London. We had a blast! We stayed with Niels and Eliz and they so graciously showed us around the city! The top picture is Joe and I at Windsor Castle. This was probably our favorite day there! Also at the top is the National Museum of Art. Joe was not impressed of course but I was speechless. Finally getting to see many of the works of art I have only read about and studied through textbooks was amazing! Finally, Joe and Niels took a break from waiting for the changing of the guards to smoke a cigar. Like I said, we had a blast!

There's a first for everything...

I figured since all my friends and family are in like 8 different states and 2 countries I would start a blog. Facebook and Myspace are good but being in education these memberships may have to be terminated eventually. Plus my mom has no idea how to even check her mail let alone have a Facebook account. Really I am doing this for her as my brothers and most of my friends have Facebook or Myspace and we keep in touch through that... Anyway, I will post pictures of the new house and trips that Joe and I go on as soon as I figure how! Until then... DO WORK!
